drought! drought! argh blog drought. my brain's too dead.. all i seem to be able to come up with are one-liners. *pish* ah well.. ok i'm feeling rebellious today. i have absolutely no inclination to do any work at all!! there! and i'm feeling happy with that too! =)
perhaps its due to a v v treasured present i just received. to those out there who've ever heard of "The Flight of Dragons", "The Last Unicorn", "The Camel Boy", "The Secret of NIMH" drop me a line on my tagboard yes? i would love to know other pple, other than myself who've heard, read, watched these =)
to sound more coherent: i watched a slice of my childhood today.. and i cried at the end. what i've been dreaming and pining to hold ever since i was 5 was finally finally after 16yrs in my hands. who cares if it is a vhs tape.. (i can always convert it into vcd).. no that didn't matter. what mattered the most was i actually physically owned it now!
for any who grew up on fairytales and fantasy this is a gem beside the treasure that is "The Lord of the Rings". "The Flight of Dragons" is simple yet poignant, heartfelt, and real, honest fantasy at its best. What was even better was i remembered every, single scene, the dialoge was but an echo of all that i remembered in my head. each scene, the music, the voices were exactly as i remembered them...similarly, my sis and i can remember every detail in "The Last Unicorn".. we watched them both that many times.
all thanks to a certain special one in the US right now =)
my children will see these cartoons, and hopefully so will my grandchildren. these are the cartoons kids shld grown up with. not power rangers, pokemon... they don't make cartoons like they used to nowadays... a toast to the old and the past...
