oh and this is a link to an interview with the author of the previous book i was reading (English Passengers - Matthew Kneal). it's a fantastic and engaging read. and for one who's actually been to tasmania and visited Port Arthur and its dark rooms, the references to those places in the bk really rang true...
its tragic-comic dealing with the relationship between the British and the aborigines also gives cause to stop, ponder and reflect... deeply on the issue of colonialisation.
